Hayden's news report

Hayden writes and gives an oral news report each Tuesday for her second grade class. She just typed this one up--ALL BY HERSELF (she knows how to use spellcheck) and I thought you'd all enjoy reading it. At the end of the report, she asks questions to make sure the other kids in the class have been paying attention. Here it is:

Good afternoon boys and girls my news report is about my brother and sister.

Sometimes they both can be very annoying. My sister is only sometimes nice other times she is always saying,`` You’re the worst sister in the galaxy” or ``you aren’t very nice.” And sometimes she keeps me up till eleven saying ``Are you asleep? Good you aren’t because I have something important to tell you…HI!” So that’s how she is but my brother is even wierder. At night when my sister is being annoying he sits by his door reading (or pretending to read) a blues clues book or a lightning mc queen book out loud. One night I heard him and got out of bed and went over to him and said,``Get back in your bed right this instant.” So he went in bed and I did too but when I looked out the door again I saw him playing cars and can you guess what I did? I crawled out of bed and told him, ``What are you doing out of bed now?” He said,`` But but my cars want to be in the sun not cave …cave is dark!” I looked at him and said,`` Your cars want to be asleep not in the sun … sun is bad, and sun is bad for you too. You need to be asleep too…NOW!” He went in bed and I went half way in my room and guess who I saw out again? My brother! But this time he didn’t bring anything with him. He was just staring at me wide-eyed. I was tired so I just got in bed. The next morning I saw him lying on the floor asleep. I laughed for an hour.
